Before And After: Work/Play Family Room
A growing family with a love of travel, needed a functional space where mom could work and kids could play so we stepped in to plan a room that did just that.
This open concept infill home was lacking when it came to toy storage for their little ones, and the aesthetics of the space was not living up to it’s potential. We decided to maximize the storage capabilities of the front wall with floor to ceiling built-ins and embrace the couples love of travel and collection of items from abroad with a playful mix of textures and patterns.
Lacking storage and aesthetics, my client decided it was time for a change. The BEFORE.
The family room transformed with built-ins for toy and book storage plus a work area for a mom. In PROGRESS.
The finished space furnished with a large area rug for kids play, a window seat complete with storage and a chair 1/2 for cuddles and reading. The AFTER.
With the perfect place for play and work to happen even at the same time, this busy and growing family can enjoy the function and aesthetics of their new space.
