Design: Thanksgiving Table Setting

Thanksgiving creeps up on me so quickly I never seem to have the time to think about decorations let alone preparing a turkey dinner. This year, as irony would have it, we have no plans to host and I’ve got a lovely looking table. It’s a classic case of being all dressed up with no where to go.

When asked to share ideas for setting a Thanksgiving table at a Woman’s Workshop at The Cooking Room last weekend, I jumped at the opportunity to dress my own. The result combines elements of nature with warmth and a mix of textures. It has an asymmetrical vibe to it, which is a little out of my normal approach to a table and I’ve brought in a few whimsical elements as well.

The idea behind this setting could be used on a mantle, console table or any style or size of dining table. I love it’s versatility and the ability to have fun with nature and embrace things you may have in your home, or even in your own backyard.

Above all, there’s nothing more important than spending time with those we love..beautiful table setting or not. Have a Happy Thanksgiving weekend!
