Weekend Link Love
I have a lot of emotion. I’m just that kind of person. I wear my heart on my sleeve and I have a hard time separating business and personal. I’ve come a long way in maintaining a balance however the last two months have hit hard in the emotion department in both of these areas. Nothing epic, nothing crazy serious, just emotions of all proportions, good and bad, have been felt in one way or another. And as a dear friend put it, “work is feeling like work”. And she couldn’t be more right.
To be honest, this is something I rarely feel, to which I’m so grateful. I could count on one hand the number of times I’ve felt this way in the last 16 years of business. There have been bumps along the way, a few mountains, but rarely a series of constant ups and downs that have me feeling like I’m on the Expedition Everest roller coaster at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Oy.
If it’s one thing I’ve learned, I can never stop learning. I am very hard on myself by nature and this comes with it’s pros and cons. So add in some high level emotion to my already over achiever, analytical, A-type personality and well, that was February for you. I’m in the mood for some self care and refocus. Next weekend is daylight savings which makes me oh, so, happy. And in three weeks it will officially be spring. While Mother Nature may not automatically switch the seasons the technicality of the date is helpful in knowing new life, and warmer days are around the corner.
And with all of this, I remind myself to be grateful. In all things, give thanks. To hone in on the things 2017 taught me and not sway from my values, my integrity and remain true to myself. Oh, and one thing I’m really working on, to not take things too seriously!

After watching the Superbowl I stumbled upon this story "The Search for Jackie Wallace" by Ted Jackson. Fascinating story. Long, but worth the read.
