Feminine, modern and classic girls bathroom
When making selections for an entire home, you realize quickly how one thing starts to affect the other, then another and another. That's where the help of an interior designer comes along! We're 90% complete on millwork drawings, tile selections, countertops and lighting for our Mount Royal project so a cross check of all related and supporting elements to make sure each one is right for the other is a necessary part of the design process.
I love having kids part of the design process for their spaces. With Pinterest an active part of our concept forming and inspiration I often ask for the kids to hone in on their style preferences as well. This young lady showed an interest in the overall look and feel of this bathroom space from the light fixtures to the brass details and mom loves the white on white on white.
When designing a kids bathroom it's important to make selections based on the fact that they will grow. With hard elements that are more difficult to change and update as they mature, the best approach is one of neutrality and simplicity. We took a feminine and classic approach to the finishes and materials with soft whites, penny round tiles and a subtle pattern in a relief format for the backsplash. Adding in a pale wood colour and touches of brass we've got a modern bathroom suitable for a tween all the way through to young adulthood
Here's a mood board sneak peek into our selections so far. It's coming along as all of the hard elements have been selected, tile layouts and specification packages are nearly complete and we're ready to move to the softer elements of the design process. Fun!
Who doesn't love a fresh white bathroom?!
We're loving the shades of white and layers of texture!
