Design Style: MIXIMALISM
What happens when you fall into a category that isn’t explained solely by traditional, modern, farmhouse, transition, Scandinavian, or Mid-century modern. Perhaps you like a little taste of everything? I’m with you. I love a good mix! So much so, I’ve created a new word to describe my aesthetic, and a concept I feel we bring often to our projects.
Hello MIXIMALISM !
Miximalism is an elevated, modern-day eclecticism, whereby the design of a room is collected and edited with intention and love, rather than a space that feels expected, contrived and over-saturated in design. This aesthetic could err towards minimalism, or maximalism in its own right, however, it bridges the gap between stark and cluttered, adding personality and warmth throughout a home.
We recently completed a project where the idea of Miximalism is at the helm. The era of the home is the 1920s, providing architectural details that add a significant visual layer and beauty. We embraced and enhanced this by way of thoughtfully selected furniture and decor, room layout, and overall design. With trust from our clients, we paired traditional with mid-century, and vintage with boho, resulting in an unexpected collection of items that all play well together, offering cohesivity from room to room and a true feeling of home. Here’s what we did with the corresponding aesthetics.
