Interior Design Details We’re Excited to Embrace in 2025
A new year brings with it a celebration of new trends, design aesthetics of the moment and details the industry is focused on. While we don’t put a huge emphasis on trends per se, there’s certainly an opportunity to embrace what’s new, next and the ability to bring exciting design details into our work.
Our interiors focus primarily on creating spaces that have enduring timelessness, however adding unexpected design details serves a room well, allowing a sense of playfulness and layers of interest to come to life. Interiors should be full of depth, texture, richness and the type of items and details that make you pause, appreciate and perhaps even second guess its connection. Homes should never be flat, rather a playing field of purpose, collected and intentional items that fuel a room with personality.
Here are a few design concepts and aesthetics we’re excited to infuse in our projects in 2025:
Wood Details & Textures
Whether turned, scalloped, burled or limed, we’re into a new era of wood details. We’re ready to infuse depth and dimension into millwork, wall details, and of course furniture too. When carefully considered, adding these special touches are sure to elevate any room!

Grand Preppy Chic
This aesthetic embraces the classics with feminine touches such as florals, ruffles, fringe and scallops.Think a great pair of jeans and a classic loafer paired with a colourful blazer, blouse with unexpected details or even a white button down with layers of jewelry. My grandparents had a fabulous yellow floral chintz pattern on the sofa and chair set in their porch. Perhaps that’s where my love of the colour yellow stemmed from! The same can be said for an interior space with the timeless basics as a foundation, elevated with chic and sophisticated details that simply make the room sing.

Warm Colour Palettes
After several projects in the cooler realm of blues and greens, we’re excited to embrace a warmer palette. We jumped in feet first with this design and colour story for our office and would love to continue on this theme with more warmth in interiors for up and coming projects. Think ochres, mocha browns, burnt reds, warm pinks, French muddy greys and corals. Oooooh la la!

Modern Botanicals
Combining a love of florals and a bold graphic, I’ve found myself recently obsessed with modern botanicals. I love the playfulness, the movement and natural character these pieces of art take on. Fill an entire wall or let one stand on its own. I’m ready to bring the outside in with an unexpected twist on a classic floral.

Vintage Anything
We’ve been adding more and more vintage items into our interior projects, so much so, many have been purchased early enough on in our design process that we’re planning around them. What better way to create intentionality around design, bring in a layer of a ‘life well lived’, and honour the past with vintage and antique furniture, accessories and design details. It’s a thrill of the find and becoming an important layer in our designs!

Feel a tug at your heart for more than one of these design styles? You’re not alone! We’re always compelled to infuse a little of this and a little of that into our designs, all the while maintaining a sense of timelessness. Led by our clients existing collections, travels and influences of design over the years, we love combining aesthetics. We’ve coined this approach to design as MIXIMALISM.
Miximalism is an elevated, modern-day eclecticism, whereby the design of a room is collected and edited with intention and love, rather than a space that feels expected, contrived and over-saturated in design. This aesthetic could err towards minimalism, or maximalism in its own right, however, it bridges the gap between stark and cluttered, adding personality and warmth throughout a home.
Sounds like the kind of home you’d like to live in? Us too. We LOVE a good mix and it always starts with what our clients are drawn to and love. Then we put our spin on it to create a cohesive space or home. Ready to get started? We’d love to meet you. Reach out via our contact form and let’s get to know each other and see what kind of MIX we can design together.
PS!! We’re booking far in advance so even if you’re contemplating a project, please be in touch sooner rather than later! 💛
